The Battle of Cowpens Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), is named for the decisive battle that helped turn the tide in the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution. On January 17, 1781, Brigadier General Daniel Morgan led his army of Continentals and militia in a victory over Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton's British force at Cowpens, SC. The battle is recognized as one of the most important of the American Revolution.

The Chapter, chartered in 1894, has participated with the Sons of the American Revolution in laying a wreath in January at Daniel Morgan's statue, located in downtown Spartanburg, approximately twenty miles from the Cowpens National Battlefield. The Chapter has strongly supported and continues to contribute to Tamassee DAR School in South Carolina.
